From humble beginnings

Bandla Nails is a nail beauty bar founded in 2018 by Bandlakazi Mazaleni, a student and young entrepreneur. The idea was not to start a business but to provide self-care at home, which led to this fast-growing nail beauty bar. The business was founded at Res (University student accommodation) with just a few graduates needing nail aid to a full-on nail beauty bar that provides various services including fingernail and toenail painting, cleaning, cutting, and shaping nails, installing and designing acrylic nails, and applying and designing gel nail polish.
The story continued
The business not only helped her financially but made her a much better person. It forced her out of her comfort zone as she was a bit anti-social, but when running a nail beauty bar, she had to step out of her shell. She had to start and maintain social media pages to advertise her business and keep up with trending designs to ensure customer satisfaction. She did not stop there, she is currently studying Entrepreneurship at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) which has helped her grow her business, tackle and overcome the challenges that come with owning a business, and grow herself as a young business owner in South Africa (SA).
One of the most common challenges faced by students who live at student accommodation residences is hunger and this is the main reason why Bandlakazi decided to turn a self-care kit into a business. It was a way for her to earn extra income and be in control of her life.
Her goal is to occupy her own space where she can employ other people who want to enter the nail beauty industry and teach them what she has learned so far. She wants to inspire as many young men and women out there to open their own nail beauty bars or their own businesses.
